Navigation: Accounting > Unit Accounting > Owner Ledger > Refund
Purpose: To issue a Refund to a Unit within Shiftsuite
To process a refund for an owner due to an overpayment, collect a Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) from a previous owner, or address a double payment, you can utilize the Refund feature to generate a cheque through the system.
To start this process, navigate to Accounting > Unit Accounting > Owner Ledger > Refund, and select the unit for which the refund needs to be created.
When completing the Refund form, follow these steps:
- Select the Owner: Choose the appropriate owner (e.g., current or previous owner).
- Debit Account: Select the income account. The system will automatically default to the receivable account, minimizing the risk of selecting an incorrect account.
- System Defaults: The system will prepopulate fields such as the operating bank, date, and amount.
- Notes: Add any relevant notes to the form.
- Save: Review the information and click Save to complete the process.
